**Job Title: Maintenance Operative**

**Location: The Knowle Care Home, Preston**

**Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 15:00**

**Salary: £13.50 per hour**

The Knowle Care Home is part of the PH Care Group, dedicated to providing high-quality care in a warm, homely environment. We are looking for a reliable and skilled **Maintenance Operative** to join our team and ensure our home is safe, well-maintained, and comfortable for our residents.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform basic maintenance tasks, including painting, decorating, and minor repairs both inside and outside the home.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks
- Carry out health and safety checks such as fire alarm and call point testing, water temperature monitoring, and general HSE compliance.
- Complete regular audits and quality checks of the building, communal areas, and residents' rooms.
- Ensure the care home remains in a well-maintained, presentable, and homely condition.
- Work with external contractors, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Care Standards Act legislation.
- Report any maintenance issues beyond the scope of the role to the Home Manager.
- Respect residents' privacy, dignity, and choices while carrying out duties.
- Attend statutory and mandatory training as required.

**Key Skills & Experience**:

- Experience in basic maintenance, including decorating, plumbing, joinery, and minor repairs.
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH and Fire Safety.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage workload effectively.
- Strong record-keeping and reporting skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and able to interact positively with residents and staff.
- A full, clean driving licence and own transport are essential.
