**The team**

Education, Schools and Inclusion covers a wide range of areas including school organisation and admissions, adult learning, the 0-5 Service, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, education support services and school improvement.

The Education Support Service is a busy, supportive team, working with families, children, young people and schools and is responsible for school admissions, fair access, exclusions, legal intervention, elective home education and the ethnic minority and traveller achievement service.

A vacancy has arisen for a full-time Elective Home Education Officer to support current officers in maintaining our duties regarding children and young people who are electively home educated.

**About the role.**

Your key role will be to work with parents, children and young people, schools, and partner agencies to support children and young children who are being electively home educated. You will ensure that every child and young person who is in home education is receiving an efficient education, suitable to age, ability and any other additional need. providing advice or challenge to both parents and schools when required.
