Static Window Cleaning Team Leader

**We are looking for a full time permanent Window Cleaning Team Leader **to join our friendly and supportive team.**

**SALARY**:£16.50 per hour

**Overall responsibility**

Overseeing and directing the on-site window cleaning services. Ensuring the work is carried out to the required standard in line with the agreed work schedule, as well as in line with our Health & Safety guidelines and legislation

**Key responsibilities**
- Provide day to day Supervision of the Window Cleaning Operative, leading by example to ensure we exceed expectations of cleaning standards and duties are completed in line with the task cards and cleaning specification
- Check that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are current and that work is being carried out in accordance with the site’s Health and Safety guidelines
- Ensure a professional image is maintained by yourself and the Window Cleaning Operative
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures; including checking equipment and machinery are clean and safe to use - report non-compliance to the Site Manager and Service Delivery Director immediately
- Operating or working within the site cradle at up to 20 stories high
- Carry out quality checks to ensure standards have been met
- Remain up to date with Client/Company policies and ensure these are communicated
- Attend meetings as required by the client and as requested by our Management
- Work to a planned schedule to ensure the services are delivered with maximum efficiency based on productive hours. Organise alternative work when necessary
- Immediately report any breach of company procedures or Health & Safety Guidelines to the Service Delivery Director or the H&S Director
- Develop and motivate the Window Cleaning Operative and discuss any ideas with our D&W team.
- Ensure that all new staff receive adequate, appropriate training, are advised of the correct working practice for carrying out their duties, and are aware of Health & Safety Guidelines, before starting work
- Ensure that the correct cleaning solutions, materials and equipment are available
- Ensure that the appropriate PPE is worn for the task and weather conditions
- Advise the Service Delivery Director of any work that has not been completed, or of any problems that may have arisen
- Ensure that all equipment, including harnesses, ladders etc are checked for wear and tear and safety prior to use and that all safety certificates are current
- Check all equipment for safety on completion of the works and to ensure that all equipment, materials, solutions are returned or accounted for
- Immediately report to Service Delivery Director or the H & S Director:

- sub-standard or unsafe equipment
- near miss or injury sustained by a window cleaner whilst carrying out their duties
- damage to third party property and ensure the proper reports are completed for administration purposes
- Record and report to the Service Delivery Director on:

- attendance and requests for holiday leave to ensure there is adequate cover
- sickness absence
- potential disciplinary matters

The duties listed above are not conclusive and you may be required to carry out duties as directed by the Contract Manager and Service Delivery Director, in addition to the above in order to meet the needs of the client, the company or your team.

**Necessary qualifications, skills, experience and attitudes**
- Experienced window cleaner with experience of working on high rise buildings over 20 stories
- Experience of using Reach and Wash system and Jet Washer
- This is a Customer facing role, which requires diplomacy, tact and the ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Basic knowledge of HR procedures/responsibilities and Health & Safety Guidelines/legislation
- Ability to work at heights, in all weathers and in difficult conditions
- Excellent communication skills with ability to delegate and communicate instructions, information and knowledge clearly and concisely
- An organised person, a problem solver who can multi task and prioritise workload
- Good interpersonal skills (supportive, friendly and approachable)
- Reliable, professional with a can do attitude
- Confident & motivated team leader with ability to influence others and build trust
- Ability to work efficiently whether supervised or unsupervised
- Excellent standard of spoken & written English (ESOL level 2 or GSCE A to C grade)
