Overview of a Home Library Assistant
Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Home Library Assistant to join an expanding team. The role of Home Library Assistant has a competitive pay rate of £11.30 per hour Umbrella/Limited.Other benefitsinclude excellent training and support for career development and 21 days holiday (excluding Bank Holidays).
Duties of a Home Library Assistant:

- To deliver a home library service to the borough’s housebound residents
- To manage the day-to-day operations of the Home Library Service
- To co-ordinate driving activities including the recruitment of volunteer drivers
- To maintain an appropriate stock of books and audio material
- To promote the Home Library Service as widely as possible
- To deliver service directly to housebound residents’ homes, using the library van.
- To support the delivery of services that meet the requirements of the Service, Department and Corporate plans.

To be successful in this role you would need to have the below skills & experience:

- Must be able to encourage active participation in cultural, democratic, and economic activities.
- Must be able to enable them to participate in and return to lifelong learning through formal or informal programmes.
- Must be able to Assist them to make positive use of leisure time.
- Must be able to Promote reading and literacy as basic skills necessary for active involvement in the above activities.
- Must be able to Encourage the use of information and an awareness of its value.
- The post holder leads the team in presenting an image of good customer service to the public.
