The Opportunity
As an Environmental Consultant you would assist in coordinating environmental inputs to large-scale development projects across a range of sectors, including residential, commercial, energy and infrastructure.
You would assist in co-ordinating and project managing multidisciplinary environmental inputs, working closely with design and technical teams to assess and manage the environmental aspects of projects. You would work in an integrated manner with the wider planning service lines as part of a ‘one team’ approach to project delivery.
This is a unique opportunity to join an independent and integrated planning and environmental consultancy with a team of ambitious and driven individuals with the skills and aspirations to mentor and develop junior members of the team. The role requires experience in environmental consultancy, which includes:
- Managing and coordinating multidisciplinary environmental inputs across a wide range of projects, working with planning colleagues to gain consents.
- Managing and coordinating the preparation of Screening and Scoping reports, Environmental Assessments and Environmental Statements.
- Working collaboratively as part of an integrated planning and environmental team, helping to coordinate inputs from design and technical teams on major projects.
- Interfacing with a variety of multi-disciplinary design and technical teams to identify environmental constraints, mitigate impacts and develop solutions on complex development projects.
- Demonstrating excellent verbal and report writing skills, including and ability to critically technical review a wide range of technical information.
- Demonstrating experience and confidence in engaging with a wide variety of stakeholder groups.
- Developing project management skills, with an emerging awareness of staff resourcing / management and budgeting.
- Promoting the business externally at meetings, events and on social and other media.
A degree in a relevant environmental discipline (preferably a Masters degree) is required and an appropriate professional membership would be preferable.
