This is a fantastic opportunity for an engaging and enthusiastic individual to be appointed as Head of Psychology and join our team at North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. The position is full time (1.0 WTE with 0.4 WTE dedicated to clinical activity).

The role will provide professional governance and leadership to psychological practitioners across the Trust in addition to delivering highly specialist psychological intervention, consultation and clinical supervision within an identified area of expertise. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in system wide engagement activities and the chance to lead on innovative initiatives going forward.

You will be an experienced Clinical Psychologist with demonstrable leadership competencies. The post will be based at Harplands Hospital with PA support and will report to the Chief Medical Officer. There is also the opportunity to be home based as appropriate.

Responsible for a specialist caseload and provision of specialist advice and consultancy to patients and professionals.

Manages, leads and motivates practitioners, assistants, trainees from own and other professions across the Trust. Ensures that systems are in place and working effectively for the clinical and professional supervision and governance of all those practising psychology and psychological therapies within the Trust.

Responsible for psychological aspects of policy development for all psychology and psychological therapy provision within North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust.

To take the lead within the Trust and in representing the Trust externally in appropriate projects as agreed with the Chief Executive.
