We have an opportunity for a hardworking, reliable & motivated individual to join our professional accounts team as Accounts Receivable Finance Assistant.

This is a full time (37.5 hours per week) fixed term contract for 6 months. This role will be based partly within our Business Support Centre in Hampton, Peterborough and also homeworking.

You will be joining really hardworking and committed teams, which consist of 2 Team Managers, 2 Senior Finance Assistants, 9 other Finance Assistants and 2 Finance Administrators.

You will be responsible for managing a set of accounts, which will involve credit control, liaising with funders, managing queries, updating funding, cash allocation and processing invoice requests. You will work closely with everyone in Mencap including our service managers, accounts payable team, finance administrators, and regional finance teams in order to support them with any queries.

To be considered for the role, you will have excellent communication skills and tenacity, as well as being self-motivated with good problem solving capabilities. You will need to be able to clearly demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload, as these are key skills within this role. Being an ambassador and supporter for change is so important for us, as we continuously want to improve the way we work.

Previous accounts experience is not essential as we pride ourselves on investing time to ensure you have all the training that you will need to succeed in the role. The important thing is that you want to join us, are confident when communicating on the phone, and that you have a desire to do this sort of work. Previous experience with Microsoft Excel is essential, as there will be regular usage of spreadsheets and formulas within the role.
