A rapidly expanding spin-out company is recruiting for a Senior Process Development Engineer to join its team in Cambridge. As part of the technical team, you will lead process development, improvement, and optimisation activities - working on innovativeprojects involving films and coatings.

This role would suit an experienced Process Development Engineer with a strong background in the films or coatings industry - working on R&D implementation and pilot-manufacturing scale.

**Senior Process Development Engineer**
- Being the technical specialist/project lead on our films and coatings projects
- Leading process development, improvement and optimisation
- Implementation of processes from Lab to manufacturing scale
- Planning and conducting experiments to investigate the effect of processes parameters on final product (at various scales)
- Liaising with internal and external experts (e.g. consultants and equipment suppliers) to identify best process and equipment
- Working with external consultants on the scale-up processes

**Senior Process Development Engineer**
- Degree level qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or closely related.
- Experience of R&D implementation and pilot to manufacturing scale
- Coatings or Films expertise, preferably at pilot and manufacturing scale
- Experience of developing a process from batch to a continuous mode of operation
- An experimentalist with strong analytical skills
- An individual who is open to learn with an inquisitive mindset
- Leading projects to deliver products to customers
- An enthusiasm for Xampla's mission of addressing plastic pollution, and interest in sustainability
- The right fit for a small, science-led, innovative team and a high level of autonomy, creativity and independence
