Weld Coordinator

The role:
Weld Coordinator/Inspector - reporting to the Weld Engineering Manager. This will be based at James Fisher Nuclear (JFN) site in Malton, Yorkshire.
**Key duties and responsibilities**:

- Welding inspection (Fit up, in process and post fabrication).
- Assisting with compilation of lifetime records.
- Ensuring that welders’ qualifications are up to date and suitable for the work.
- Control the supply and storage of welding consumables.
- Maintain and control approved documentation such as weld plans, records & ITPs
- Helping to maintain safe working practices in accordance with statutory and or other requirements.
- Implementation of welding quality control procedures.
- Witness and supervision of NDT inspections.
- Site visits to sub-contractors for inspection, witnessing, documentation etc. as required.
- Assisting with the writing and review of WPSs.
- Review of material and consumables certification and maintaining traceability.
**Key Skills and attributes**:

- In depth knowledge of BS EN ISO welding standards.
- Experience of working in a highly regulated environment. Previous work within the nuclear industry would be desirable.
- Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings and inspect against tight tolerances.
- Good knowledge of welding processes and materials especially stainless steels.
***Qualifications**:

- Welding inspector PCN level 2 or CSWIP 3.1.
- Registered weld coordinator.
- Welding diploma specialist level (IWS/EWS).
- Further education in engineering related discipline.

This role would suit someone with previous experience of weld coordination or who has worked in a supervisory capacity.
