**Interim Senior Media and Digital Officer
Based: London (hybrid working)

Length: 4 months initially

IR35 status: Inside

We are supporting one of our local authority clients to recruit an interim Senior Media and Digital Officer, who will join a busy and fast-paced team to provide additional support and capacity.
- Key Responsibilities of the interim Senior Media and Digital Officer include: _
- Delivering proactive and reactive media and digital communications for the authority, building on the authority’s reputation and ensuring that their strategic aims and priorities are communicated to residents, stakeholders, and key media contacts with maximumimpact
- Gaining positive coverage for the authority locally, across London and nationally via different channels in the media and directly to residents
- Deputising for the Media Manager as and when required to protect and enhance the reputation of the authority
- Supporting the Council’s crisis management efforts through effective communication and use of different channels
- Managing key partnership relations across the borough and beyond that ensures it has one professional voice and that residents understand how they work together to improve their lives
- Skills and experience required of the interim Senior Media and Digital Officer:_
- Use of digital media and familiarity of different digital channels, and how to improve them
- Proactive and reactive media relations, as well as providing direct advice on media and reputation issues
- Positive attitude and ability to find solutions and take necessary action within a highly pressured environment
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills with the ability to maintain effective relationships at every level of an organisation
- Government background preferable but would also consider agency and/or media background
