The Children’s Rights post is crucial in ensuring that PKC meets it’s obligations under the requirements of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and supports work undertaken in the context of GIRFEC. This post will not only promote these rights and their implications to PKC staff, external agencies and organisations, parents and young people but will also ensure young people should be involved in decisions that affect them. Working with our MSYP's and local youth forums the post will ensure that young people's rights are upheld and that the young persons voice is heard. The post will be Perth and Kinross wide and will involve working with a number of statutory and third sector partners gathering the opinions and thoughts of young people. This post will also be integral in supporting Perth and Kinross's strategy for young people.

Perth and Kinross Council is looking for a motivated individual with a flexible working approach. A person that can demonstrate persitence towards inspiring young people.

The successful applicant will not only have knowledge and commitment to working with young people but be able to work alongside them to set goals, ensure their delivery and have the ability to evaluate and report on these.
