This is an exceptional opportunity for someone to join the leadership team of the AECOM UK&I Ecology team as a one of three terrestrial ecology Regional Leads.

Join our dynamic Nature team as the Regional Lead for our Celtic and Southwest region, covering Scotland, Ireland, Wales and the Southwest of England. You will be leading and growing our team of 60 terrestrial ecologists throughout the region and will be part of the Nature Leadership team. You will be responsible for the ecology projects within your region, including delivery and technical excellence.

You will be working closely with clients and our internal teams to deliver both ecology focused and multidisciplinary projects including major infrastructure projects, such as power networks and pipelines, renewable energy such as solar, wind and pumped storage hydro schemes, coastal defences, electricity transmission network reinforcement, and recreational infrastructure.

**Here’s what you’ll do**:

- Leading our 60+ regional team of terrestrial ecologists in delivering a range of complex ecological projects through the region
- Responsible for the growth and development of the team, including major project work winning, client engagement, and project delivery
- Report on the progress of the region against KPIs, identifying opportunities to grow and improve
- Act as a technical and project lead for ecological projects including, lead verifier, project manager and project approver
- Be part of the Nature leadership team, supporting the growth and development of the Nature team, including delivery and technical excellence

**Qualifications** Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?**
- Here’s what we’re looking for:_
- Membership of an appropriate professional institution and working towards or obtained Chartered Ecologist or Chartered Environmentalist status
- Experience of leading and line management of an ecology team
- Experience of leading and managing ecological surveys/licensing/impact assessment (as relevant to your areas of specialisms) as demonstrated by suitable professional experience
- Experience in managing projects, project budgets and leading stakeholder discussions, and bidding/tendering
- Experience of reviewing/verifying technical work and supporting wider team members
- Experience of work winning and client engagement
