**The Opportunity**:
- We have an exciting opportunity to be part of the Commercial Team for the UK Cyber and Security Solution Division, which is a major growth area with ambitious targets over the short to medium term. The role holder will be involved in a variety of bids and contracts for key programmes, products and customers. Reporting to a Senior Commercial Manager the role holder will work closely with Integrated Project Teams and Delivery Teams providing commercial support across a number of current bids and future business opportunities. This role sits within the commercial function based in Bristol but with flexibility to work from home on a regular basis; there is also the need to occasionally work from other UK sites or customer location.The jobholder will be expected to maximise their contribution to the business through negotiating new contracts or contractual changes that represent an appropriate level of risk and reward and ensuring all contractual obligations are managed and fulfilled accordingly. You will be responsible for the following:
- Drafting, negotiating and administration of terms and conditions of contract.
- Working with Procurement to ensure appropriate flow down to subcontractors.
- Drafting and reviewing Non-Disclosure Agreements
- Providing commercial support and administration to projects and/or contracts, including change control management, monitoring performance of its contractual obligations, management of commercial risk and contract closure.
- Some understanding of UK MOD terms and conditions as prime and sub-contractor
- Represents the Commercial function and Leonardo through attendance at customer meetings
- Assisting with the generation of proposals for submission to Customers in conjunction with the preparation of internal documentation required to obtain bid approval
- Ensuring that commercial and business processes and procedures are adhered to and that associated internal approvals are in place in line with delegated authorities.
- Assignments requiring cross functional collaboration
- Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers to deliver the value to the company
- Work as an integral member of the Integrated Project Team to support the winning of new business and the management and delivery of current contracts
- Managing own workload, highlighting areas of conflict or priority and escalating or seeking additional support when needed.**What you will do**:
- In addition to The Opportunity as described above, the role key responsibility are:
- Reporting functionally to a Senior Commercial Manager and then into Head of Commercial.
- Supporting the Project Managers and Bid Managers throughout the project lifecycle management process.
- Protection of the commercial interests of Leonardo, including protection of Intellectual Property and the appropriate management of project variations.
- Optimisation of the commercial position of Leonardo in entering into new agreements and contracts.
- Working closely with other team members within the Integrated Project Team and Commercial Function.
- Assessment of contract variations and the ability to negotiate customer changes whilst maintaining a positive customer relationship.
**What we are looking for**:
- Additional Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required:
Awareness of ISO44001 & ideally experience of working within an ISO44001 project or programme. Able to work independently & with mínimal management oversight, & general understanding of:
- Have the ability to fully integrate into Project IPT whilst maintaining clear Commercial integrity & functional reporting.
- Have sharp intellect & a proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude.
- A Business/Finance graduate, or equivalent background, with additional professional qualifications desirable.
- Able to manage ‘Commercial to Commercial’ relationship with Clients ensuring that the division is viewed as honest, trustworthy, easy to work with & committed to delivering customer satisfaction.
- Recognised as a credible & informed commercial professional with ability to form lasting relationships at all levels internally & with customer.
- Able to assess contract variations & ability to negotiate customer changes whilst maintaining a positive customer relationship.
- Have first-class communication skills including commercial shrewdness & strong negotiating skills.
- Be comfortable working across functional boundaries, & able to influence others in order to achieve common goals.
