**About the Opportunity**

Jacobs is committed to playing a leadership role in Global Energy Transition. Our UK and Continental Europe team is growing and we’re looking for a Head of Overhead Lines Engineer to help position Jacobs for success.

Our Power and Energy team provides a range of services to our transmission and distribution clients. This includes work on transmission system assets, HVDC interconnectors, energy storage systems, and wind farms.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Overhead Line Engineer to be part of a project team responsible for developing and delivering Engineering Solutions from feasibility to detailed engineering design for Electricity Transmission and Distribution Projects (132kV and above). The role will be working on projects for National Grid, DNOs, and also for renewable energy projects who need the wind farms or battery storage power transmitted from the power plant and wind farms to join the grid.

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:

- Membership of a recognized professional institution /organization
- Experience of leading delivery of detailed design solutions in high voltage Overhead Lines up to 500kV including any underground to overhead transition designs requiring HV cabling and their associated interface with the overhead structures.
- Working knowledge of Utility Transmission and Distribution Line Standards
- Has proven experience of OHL system development, design, retrofitting and modification, from 11kV through 400kV
- Expert knowledge in the use of CAD packages such as PLS-CADD
- Proven track record in UK HSE legislation, Risk and CDM management
- You must have significant experience within the electricity industry, relating to OHL System design
