£19.31ph PAYE

12 month contract
- This requires a Standard DBS
- Knowledge of the Housing Health and Safety Rating system is mandatory.
- This post is up to 18.5 - 30 hours per week (the days are negotiable)

**Job Purpose**:
To assist with the efficient and effective fulfilment of the council's statutory obligations regarding housing conditions and standards. To assist in the related service provision for control of nuisances and public health and safety.

**Duties**:
Field or on site visits

Inspections

Surveying

Assessing Housing and Environmental conditions

Liaising with the general public

Preparing specifications for building work

Managing Private contractors

Preparing detailed costings

Reporting on progress of work

Advising on technical aspects

Examining and checking estimates, plans and specifications

Carrying out special projects and housing surveys

**Applicant Requirements**:
**Qualifications**:
A degree/HNC in Building construction, construction technology or equivalent technical qualification.

**Experience**:Inspection and supervision of all aspects of building construction. Supervision of building contractors and sub-contractors. Surveying of properties for defects and statutory nuisances. Ability to draw and interpret scale plans.Administration procedures associated with these technical issues.

**Compliance**:Up to date Passport and basic DBS.

**Travel**:Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

**Hours**:37 hours p/w.
