About the Business

We are a soft drinks company in the South West, stretching from Lands End to North Devon. We are an independent company who has been operating since 2006 and since then has expanded from a small manufacturing operation to now distributing drinks to various customers within the region. Our customers consist of Pubs, clubs, retail, fast food and other hospitality outlets and more. We produce our own products and supply well know brands. Our company has various roles to keep the operations moving and at present we have a permanent Delivery Drop Driver vacancy open to support with our business operations.

About the Post

This is a full-time permanent position required to cover the operational deliveries in the Devon and Cornwall area. We are looking for someone who has a full driving licence and has a good knowledge of the geographical area of, Devon, Cornwall and locations beyond, the job involves covering large distances on a daily basis with an average of 15-25 delivery drops. You will be responsible for ensuring you have the correct amount of stock on the vehicle according to the pick sheets for the deliveries ahead, you need to be vigilant about any damaged goods and replace these before setting off on your deliveries.

You are responsible for reporting problems and communicating to your line manager or the Logistics Coordinator before or throughout the day. You will be responsible and accountable for attention to detail on the delivery notes in accordance of delivery requirements, significantly identifying account customers and cash on delivery customers. This will include collecting the cash on delivery and storing this safely until you return back to the depot.

This post also requires a level of heavy lifting; however, all Health & Safety and Manual Handling training will be provided. This post requires you to be customer facing, we pride ourselves on delivering great customer service and it will be your responsibility to maintain and build these relationships with our customer base. This post requires the individual to be flexible when working during peak times, our customer base is very much focused around the hospitality industry and therefore there will be seasonal high demand on products.

About the Person

We are looking for a professional person to join an expanding team and someone who is able to make a contribution to support the daily deliveries of the South Wests leading soft drinks supplier. The individual should be someone who is reliable, energetic and has the drive and determination to support the company’s daily demands and challenges as well as meeting their own goals within the role.

You should be self-motivated to plan and organise your day and fulfill your key tasks and responsibilities to the highest of standard.

Someone who is able to build and retain relationships with existing and new customers and to meet or in some instances exceed customer expectations. You must be able to show willingness to display a good understanding of the company’s operations, products and services.

You will have excellent customer service experience and skills and are confident at dealing with a variety of different customers in adapting environments and challenging circumstances. Someone who has a high standard of communication skills and can work as part of a team as well as on their own and is flexible in their approach to their work. You will demonstrate initiative on tasks and be an integral part of the service team by communicating and working closely with technicians and the office teams. You will also have an interest in your own personal development and aspire to develop and enhance your position within the company.

Pay: £26,000.00 per year
