Our client's campus is located on a green, 60-acre, self-contained site in the centre of Birmingham, within a short walk of the shopping, business, and entertainment areas of the city.

They are seeking to recruit an experienced sports and leisure services sports facilities manager with a proven track record of achievement to lead the strategic and commercial development of the sports service at our client.

The business model for Sport is reliant on maximising income streams to offset the costs of a high volume of free use by student sports clubs and to maintain charges for individual access to the sports facilities at affordable rates for students and staff.

You will lead a team of 22 permanent staff supplemented by sessional coaches, instructors and trained support staff. You will be responsible for a multi-purpose sports centre and two floodlit synthetic pitches on the main campus and a 48-acre site containinggrass pitches, floodlit synthetic pitch and a sports pavilion 7 miles from the main campus.

Ideally you will have successfully managed sports facilities and services in a commercial setting and be able to demonstrate experience of working with governing bodies of sport, external agencies and Sport England on projects and initiatives designed toincrease widening participation in sport and physical activity.

You should hold a degree, or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
