Service Care Solutions currently have a vacancy working in partnership with a local authority based in Central Wales who are recruiting for a Waste Operative Loader.
The role holder will mainly undertake, either individually or as a member of a team, general duties concerned with the Waste and Recycling Service at their waste recycling centre and the sortation plant.
Duties and responsibilities as part of this role will be the;
- Sortation of domestic/dry recycle/green waste and transferal to collection vehicle. Sort, reject as required and without spillage.
- Assisting the driver in the safe manoeuvring of the vehicle during the course of the day.
- Collection of spillage and loading into the machinery.
- Cleansing either by using mechanical equipment or manual means within the depot.
- Litter picking, either by hand or with 'litter grab' or other similar equipment (blower, vacuum) from designated areas.
- Deliver/collect and site a variety of bins, including litter, dog and dog/litter bins, wheeled bins, recycling bins.
- Graffiti removal in accordance with instructions relevant to incident.
- Delivery/collection of signage; erected and displayed in accordance with schedules/maps.
- Scheduling of work - with regards to daily duties, route optimisation and efficient working.
- Drive vehicles (up to 3.5t) as and when required. To include basic maintenance cleaning and vehicle checks. Reporting through recognised procedures, where applicable of accidents, vehicle defects or any other relevant abnormal circumstances encounteredduring the working day.
- General cleaning and maintenance of equipment. To include daily checks, cleaning and use of pressure washer, reporting any defects or repairs to the Supervisor.
- Report appropriate problems or defects to the Supervisors for further action.

A full clean driving licence is required for this role.
