**Overview**:
- A marine superintendent role with emphasis on compliance (reporting to the Group Compliance manager). Good location, decent package, working with an interesting fleet.
**General responsibilities**:
- Responsible for monitoring & setting of policy on Safety, Health and Environmental systems for all managed vessels.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of the duties required by the position with regards to quality and safety management and current legislation.
- Responsible for the maintenance, revision and circulation of quality, environmental and safety management documentation and ensuring that the processes and procedures contained therein are implemented and maintained.
**Selected responsibilities**:
- Advising and assisting the onboard management, of all vessels with practical advice on environmental, safety & health procedures and documentation.
- To advise Fleet Superintendents on marine related issues in relation to the operation of all managed vessels.
- To arrange and carry out regular audits of all facets of shipboard operations. To compile corrective action reports & monitor compliance.
- To attend specific technical committees in pursuance of the ship and company interests.
- To perform enquiries and investigate accidents and dangerous occurrences with a drive for reflective learning and improved safety culture.
- To liaise with the Insurance and Claims department in regard to H&M claims to ensure they are presented in a timely manner for recovery.
- To monitor ship’s safety returns, including accident and near-miss reporting.
- To compile and distribute safety statistics.
- To assist Fleet Superintendents in the production of vessel budgets where they relate to crew health and safety issues.
- To undertake the duties of the Deputy Company Security Officer.
**Required experience**:
- Master Mariner qualified or Chief Officer with significant, relevant experience.
- No sponsorship available.hey have accountability.
**Salary**: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
Ability to commute/relocate:
- North West: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
