Excited to be assisting a European wide market leading SME hire an Accountant in what would be a fantastic role for a 1st time FC. Blended working is on offer and their Office is based in the Manchester region.
The UK role covers all aspects of Finance but is crucial to the delivery of accurate and timely reporting along with ensuring that effective financial controls are in place with efficient processes. The role holder will act as a business partner to local teamswhilst providing oversight to the Shared Service Centre for the delivery of finance requirements.
Key accountabilities for this role are;
- Ensure the timely and accurate production of all statutory and other external reporting requirements, including any IFRS conversion requirements, VAT returns, company tax computations / returns, Companies House updates and the preparation of monthly consolidatedP &L's and Balance Sheet.
- Working alongside the Head of Shared Service Centre (in Europe) to support the successful delivery of the UK finance requirements from a centralised function in Europe, taking responsibility for the adherence to SLA's. Including the provision of:

- Appropriate invoice, purchase ledger and credit control functions in support of the Company's principal income streams.
- Effective cash management procedures to ensure cash flows are effectively monitored and that future trends in growth or shrinkage can be predicted and managed.
- Coordinate the Companies banking facilities and be responsible for the reconciliation of banking to transactional controls and transmission of cash to clients and creditors.
- Manage the preparation of financial targets, budgets, forecasts and cash flows in accordance with the strategy determined, ensuring that they are all fully communicated to relevant audiences.
- Manage and lead the provision of timely, reporting and variance analysis showing financial performance versus plan and forecast at a Company and country level. Investigate variances and make recommendations for improvement where necessary.
- Responsible for the financial control framework with documented procedures, systems and controls. This includes responsibility for finance systems, periodic reviews of balance sheet reconciliations ensuring robust processes adhered to and accurate accountingrecords kept.
- Implement and maintain robust financial ledgers and compliant accounting policies, procedures, and practices, which should all be documented and internally audited on a regular basis.
- Establish and maintain clear and effective internal governance and control framework to ensure financial and regulatory compliance and that risk is effectively managed and controlled.
- Work closely as business partner to other areas to raise awareness of financial management ensuring best practice is shared, standard and consistent processes implemented and managers understand the impact of their decisions on key financial measures.
- Develop cross functional relationships, working collaboratively with all functions to achieve collective goals.
- Undertake and support ad-hoc project work
