We currently have an opportunity at our Grimsby LYOCELL Fibre manufacturing site for a full time **Plant Improvement Specialist** to join us Working **Monday to Friday 08:30 to 16:35 each day, on-site.**
The purpose of this role is to identify, develop and implement plant improvement initiatives and product developments, providing long term technical support for the operational needs of the manufacturing facility.
- **Key responsibilities for this role**:_
- Work with the shift teams, manufacturing specialists and operational managers to develop medium to long term process or product improvement projects
- Identify and develop product development activities co-ordinating with technical customer service and production departments
- Provide technical support and driving continuous improvement within the fibreline, polymer and offsites areas
- Develop written specifications for improvement projects, using contract mechanical or electrical engineering input as required
- Liaise with equipment suppliers and contractors to obtain pricing for agreed projects and carrying out evaluation trials as necessary
- Lead and support implementation and commissioning of new projects, including supervising contractors on installation work
- Involvement in the design and specification of proposals for inclusion on the Capital and Revenue budgets
- Support new process and product development activities including writing new SWPs, risk assessments, permits, COSHH assessments, control system FDSs, instructions and other documentation
- Provide technical support during shutdowns/R&M’s to implement medium to long term projects
- Works with the shift teams, R&D and outside agencies to promote operational improvements, quality improvements, complaint investigation, and plant de-bottlenecking to meet agreed targets
- Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is essential
- Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree
- Ability to work as part of the ‘Lenzing One Team‘, solving complex engineering / process problems. Able to work to timescales with a flexible approach and provide effective communication at all levels
