**Brief**

Java Developer needed for an industry leading provider of technology-enabled business process outsourcing in either Essex or Warwickshire, who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Java Developer that takes pride in their work with an in-depthknowledge of development using Java EE, Spring, ORM and certain web services (REST, OpenAPI, Swagger, WSDL & SOAP) to design, develop, maintain, and support both mature and new transactional systems, customer portals and data warehouse solutions using industryleading and cutting-edge technologies.

**What the role entails**:
Some of the main duties of the Java Developer will include:

- Work across various global projects simultaneously serving leading clients.
- Develop new maintainable and scalable software platforms to support a global and multi-tenant customer base.
- Maintain and enhance a range of existing transaction systems, customer portals and data warehouses to support diverse customer requirements and an evolving technical roadmap.
- Monitor and research new technologies appropriate to the business.
- Use existing and new skills and capabilities to contribute to the successful development of software solutions to meet exacting requirements.
- Maintain and improve competence in Java, relational databases and front-end web technologies.
- Work within an Agile development team at all stages of the development lifecycle.
- Work on own initiative to achieve agreed specification and timing.
- Maintain adequate documentation to meet the needs of the business.
- Meet internal and external clients to analyse their needs.
- Share knowledge with the development group on regular basis.

**What experience you need to be the successfulJava Developer**:

- Minimum of 5 years' work experience, with a high level of aptitude and a proven track record
- Experience in overseeing junior members of the team, helping with work definition, allocation, and delivery
- Experience of working to tight deadlines
- Experience in:

- Web Services - REST / OpenAPI / Swagger / WSDL / SOAP
- Java EE - EJB / JMS / Servlet / JSP
- ORM - Hibernate / JPA
- Databases - Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Neo4J

**Preferred**
- Spring - Boot / Security / Data JPA / Data Elasticsearch / Kafka / MVC
- Database Programming - SQL, PL/SQL (packages, procedures, functions etc.)
- Front-End Development - Angular / Typescript / SASS / JQuery / Freemarker
- Application/Web Servers - JBoss / Tomcat / Apache
- Build Tools - Gradle, Maven, Ant
- CI/CD - Git / Azure Devops / Jenkins / Bamboo
