Dray Night Loader

**Dray Night Loader -Abbot House, Bury St Edmunds**

**Role Purpose**

To pre-load dray vehicles at night, for onward delivery the following day by various dray crews. To load the vehicles in an efficient and safe way, in line with the delivery requirements of the customer, so they can arrive in full and safe to off-load.
Reporting in to the Bury St Edmunds Distribution Centre Transport Manager you will be required to work to a high standard of operation in safe loading, customer service, hygiene, housekeeping and, health and safety in a busy warehouse environment.

This is a full time role (average 40 hours) working Sunday - Thursday nights.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Safe and efficient loading of dray vehicles
- Accurate checking of goods on to the load, against loading and delivery notes
- Adherence to safe manual handling techniques at all times
- Drive Health & Safety within the Bury Distribution Centre, working with the others to build a Safety culture in all areas of the Bury DC, ensuring full Company and Statutory compliance
- Deliver excellent Hygiene and Housekeeping standards, and follow policies for the Bury DC
- Prepare loaded vehicles in readiness for the delivering crews coming in
- Any other duties to ensure the Bury DC operates efficiently

- LGV licence (preferable)
- Energetic and self
- motivated
- Physically fit
- Counter Balance / Reach FLT licences (preferable)
- Works in a methodical and accurate way
- Knowledge of Stock control processes (preferable)
- Flexible approach to ways of working including working hours
- Highly adaptable and able to prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines
- Drive, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
- Awareness of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental impact
