Working in the Lanes Group this position is crucial in maintaining our high standards of training delivery and compliance across our water utility partnerships. They will work alongside our existing Training Coordinator and reporting to the Head of L&D, this role will ensure smooth operation of training activities and maintain our commitment to excellence in service delivery.
**About the Role**:
As the **Training Administrator**they play a vital role within Lanes Group's Learning & Development department, supporting our utilities contracts including Severn Trent, Yorkshire Water, and Sapphire.
**Location: Preston - Hybrid**
**Hours: Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours**
(with a 30 minute unpaid break)
**Salary**: £24000
**The training administrator will serve as a key liaison between multiple stakeholders, maintain clear communication channel across the business.**
Internally, they will work closely with the training coordinator, Director of HSEQ and the Head of L&D, coordinating training activities and maintaining compliance standards. They’ll regularly engage with contract managers and operations team to schedule training and ensure certification requirements are met.
External stakeholder management will involve coordinating with our training suppliers to arrange sessions, processing invoices, and maintain quality standards. They’ll also support auditors during compliance checks. They will maintain regular contact with water utilities clients regarding training matrices and certification updates
Key Stakeholders: Head of L&D, Director of HSEQ, Contract Managers, Operations teams
Matrix Management/Division Structures: Director of HSEQ, HSEQ advisors
Wider Departments: Operation Managers
External Stakeholders: Training providers, Auditors, Water Utility clients
**Responsibilities - but not limited to**:
- Training Administration
- Schedule and coordinate training sessions
- Manage training calendar
- Maintain accurate training records
- Liaise with training suppliers
- Financial Management
- Process accounts receivable
- Manage invoice payments
- Monitor training budget utilisation
- Operational Support
- Resolve on-site issues
- Generate training reports
- Ensure audit compliance
- Support Training Coordinator
**Qualifications and Training**
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
Health and Safety awareness certification
Minimum 2 years' experience in training administration
CIPD foundation certificate
Proven track record in maintaining training records
Experience in utilities or related industrial sector
Experience with scheduling and coordination
Previous exposure to ISO standards
Strong attention to detail
Knowledge of utility operations
