Tutor Doctor Hull works closely with secondary schools and local councils across Hull and the East Riding to support Alternative Provision students or those that have been out of school for a period of time.

We are currently seeking tutors to provide daytime in-school or out-of-school education for children and young persons with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. Tuition is primarily in maths, English, and science.

Students are referred by local authorities and schools, often with Education Health Care Plans (EHCP) with learning or behavioural difficulties, at both primary and secondary level. As such, we are looking for suitable tutors with previous experience working with such learners in sometimes challenging environments. An enhanced DBS will be required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Delivering 1:1 tutoring sessions in centres or in students' homes
- Delivering 1:1 or small group sessions in schools (generally during the school day)
- Planning, preparing and delivering tutoring sessions to best meet academic needs and goals
- Forming a trusting relationship with students
- Assessing and reporting on students' progress on a regular basis
- Working to achieve an educational outcome as agreed with the referrer or school
- Adhering strictly to safeguarding policies and procedures

Qualifications and skills

Whether QTS, graduate, undergraduate, or an experienced HLTA, experience in teaching or tutoring with such learners is essential. Importantly we are looking for individuals who have the passion and capability to help others learn and discover their potential, or reengage with education. A recent enhanced DBS is essential and can be applied for.

Pay: £18.00-£25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 20 per week
