**Town Planner**

RPS, a Tetra Tech company is looking for a Town Planner to join our Planning Team, to be based in Birmingham or Manchester (hybrid). This is a key role within our National Development & Infrastructure Planning Team, who work collaboratively with our Environment Division.

**What you will be doing**:

- Supporting Planning Directors’ in successfully delivering their planning caseload, including preparing Planning Statements and representations to Local Plan consultations.
- Developing your written and oral communication skills
- Supporting with our business development initiatives and building your own profile
- Actively supporting our Assistant Planners, Graduates and Apprentices
- Contributing / engaging in our Prospects Planning Group

**Who we are looking for**:

- A qualified RTPI chartered town planner, (or working towards) with experience in a planning consultancy or a local government role
- A passion for planning, development and environmental issues
- A good working knowledge of planning policy
- Attention to detail and a proactive mindset
- A strategic thinker and someone who can readily problem solve
- A market awareness and a good understanding of local planning issues
- Experience working in the Midlands or North West region would be an advantage

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctoral degree in the field of Town Planning
- Chartered Planner or close to attaining Chartership
