Group Financial Accountant | Bury (hybrid) | £50,000 - £55,000 | PE backed
Axon Moore are seeking an ACA/ACCA qualified technically capable Group Financial Accountant to join a PE backed, market leading services business in Bury on a full time permanent basis.
You will act as a key point of contact for technical accounting and tax queries for the group and assist in the preparation and submission of accurate statutory reports or returns.
Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

- Management of the group wide financial reporting, ensuring month end and year end procedures are appropriate and adhered to
- Group consolidation, including relevant consolidation journals and outputs such as the reserves reconciliation
- Work with the FP&A manager in collecting key information from divisions for month end and year end reporting.
- Challenge group balances in terms of accuracy and validity (including balance sheet reconciliations)
- Ensure the integrity of legal entity reporting within the ERP system
- Key team member in the delivery of the annual external audit, ensuring adequate preparation, timely management of requests and maintaining excellent communication throughout.
- Drafting the statutory accounts and analysis of data for tax packs.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns
- Provide technical expertise and advice on accounting and tax matters, liaising finance team members, tax advisors or auditors as required.
- Support the central finance team or wider group as necessary, including input into system requirements or developments within the new ERP.
- Management of one direct report, responsible for staff appraisals and development.

Person specification:

- ACA/ACCA Qualified with knowledge of UKGAAP
- Good understanding of ERP systems
- Excellent attention to detail and adept at identifying potential issues within reporting
