**Job Purpose**

The Technical Coordinator plays a key role in managing the smooth flow of customer requirements from quotation through to delivery. The purpose of the role is to prepare accurate quotations, process sales orders efficiently, and plan production activities by aligning customer needs with material availability, labour resources, and company processes. Working closely with sales, production, procurement, and logistics teams, the role ensures timely order handling, effective scheduling, clear communication, and on-time delivery, while maintaining quality standards and cost-effectiveness.

Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm, Friday 8am - 4pm

Contracted hours - 39.5 hours

**Responsibilities**:

- Process timely quotes and sales orders for all fabrications and related products, complying with company checking procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure all orders meet financial requirements (e.g. account credit or proforma payments) prior to production.
- Input and update fabrication jobs on the Gantt chart, coordinating with production, procurement, logistics and technical teams to ensure job sequencing, material availability, timely delivery, and clear communication with customers.
- Adjust schedules as needed to address delays, material shortages, or urgent orders, while considering changes to staff overtime and customer lead times to maintain sustainable production schedules and efficient resource use.
- Produce and maintain OTIF reports to monitor performance.
- Demonstrate a customer-first mindset by responding promptly to requirements, utilising the CRM system to track leads, follow up with customers, and nurture relationships.
- Identify and recommend improvements to production planning, order handling processes, and operational initiatives to drive efficiency and business growth.
- Be mindful of company costs, striving for cost-effective solutions in all areas of work.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team through day-to-day support and ad-hoc holiday cover.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace, ensure timely filing and shredding of paperwork, and carry out other tasks or duties as required.

**Development & Progression Opportunities**

- **Technical Take-Offs** - Interpreting architectural and technical drawings to calculate material requirements for cladding and fabrication projects.
- **AutoCAD Use** - Learning or expanding 2D drawing and mark-up skills to support production, estimating, and project planning.
- **Technical Advisory** - Providing informed advice to customers and internal teams on fabrication methods, materials, and technical queries.

**Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required**
- Experience in production planning, scheduling, or coordination, ideally in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Knowledge of metal cladding, sheet metal fabrication, or a similar industry is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specifications (desirable but not mandatory).
