MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT ASISTANT

- Competitive pay: £10.77 per hour, weekly pay

Are you confident and resilient? Do you have a genuine interest and desire to help those with SEN/SEMH needs? We work very closely with a warm and nurturing specialist secondary school in Bath (ages 12-18). The school are looking for SEN learning supportassistants to help vulnerable pupils in the classroom and on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis. All classes in this school are small, ranging from 6-12 children in each class. Your role will include supporting the class teacher to make sure the students are engaged withlearning and interaction and are safe whilst at the school. You must have the ability to remain calm and be empathetic in challenging situations. This is a school for those with emotional and mental health needs. Many students in this school have faced adversityin the past such as trauma and face significant barriers to learning. They can be highly disruptive and display challenging behaviour so confidence in behaviour management is essential.
- Sports coaching/ sporty background
- Study of a relevant degree (education, sociology, health & social care, psychology)
- Personal experience with SEN/SEMH
