The Heart Failure Unit within King’s Cardiology Department is a growing, vibrant service providing state of the art, multi-professional in-patient and out-patient care for Heart Failure Patients. As such, it provides excellent training in Heart Failure Cardiology, suitable for fulfillment of the general curriculum in Cardiology (UK and ESC) and advanced training at sub -specialty level. Specifically this post-holder will be expected to participate in Heart Failure In-Patient Care and the Specialist Heart Failure Outpatient Clinics. They will attend the Heart Failure MDT Meeting where complex patients are discussed. Exposure to assessing patients for device therapy and post device care are also available, as is participation in an inherited cardiomyopathy clinic. Heart Failure has close links with the excellent imaging facilities at King’s.

The successful applicant will join the Heart Failure Team at King’s. Duties involve participation in Heart Failure Clinics, Inpatient Heart Failure Ward Rounds and the Heart Failure MDT.

The post holder has a general duty of care for their own health, safety and well being and that of work colleagues, visitors and patients within the hospital, in addition to any specific risk management or clinical governance accountabilities associated with this post.

The Heart Failure clinical fellow will be responsible for contributing, on a full-time basis, to the clinical programme of the Heart Failure Unit and also providing, with other Cardiology SpRs, input to the General Cardiology service. They would join a team consisting of five consultant cardiologists, four heart failure specialist nurses, a heart failure subspecialty registrar and a research registrar.
