Seasonal Golf Greenkeeper

Hill Barn Golf Club was established in 1935 and is a free draining 18-hole golf course in the South Down National Park. Hill Barn GC is propireatry owned within the Maple Leaf group of clubs. We do not operate with a Greens Commitee structure and all golf course strategy and schedule is decided by employees and the Management Team.

The position is for a full time SEASONAL CONTRACT, 42 hours per week. The contract is for work until the end of September with the possibility of an extension. A flexible approach is required along with some weekend, overtime work, according to a rota system.

**The main duties include but are not restricted to**:

- Assisting the team in all aspects of greenkeeping, including: cutting all playing surfaces, changing holes, setting up golf course for play, preparing bunkers, buggy management
- Ensuring that the course is presented in the best possible condition to exceed the expectations of members and visitors
- Assisting with construction, aeration, and renovation works
- Able to safely operate a wide range of golf course machinery
- A desire to become a Golf Club Greenkeeper
- A willingness to learn
- A strong work ethic, coupled with excellent time keeping
- A positive team player who has equal ability to work on their own
- Have an excellent attention to detail
- To always look for improvements and to work with care and consideration of equipment
- Complete tasks in line with Health and Safety regulations
- A full clean UK Driver’s License
- Have golfing experience (desirable but not essential)
- Mechanical experience, (desirable but not essential)

Pay: £9.50-£11.42 per hour

Expected hours: 42 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Worthing: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Greenkeeping or Horticulture: 1 year (preferred)
