**The Role**

This is a super exciting opportunity to join a high-growth Tech-for-good business, who have just secured a series funding round for millions as their first Senior API tester. They currently have a Manual test team of 3 and you will join a medium sized teamwho are about to embark on an exciting period of growth as they look to expand to keep up with their market and client-base. The long-term goal is to take things global and they have great investors backing them to get there They are looking for Senior APItester who has experience in moving from manual to automated API testing.

You will establish a brand-new API testing framework and process for the business' internal and business to business APIs. You will have flexibility in what framework you choose to use for the role at hand and what you think works best i.e. Selenium, Cypressetc. You will work closely with the backend development team in order to ensure a high standard of both existing and brand new microservices. You will have a key role in building the foundation blocks for an automated test system that further API testers inthe future will be able to utilise and extend. You will ideally be able to work closely with the DevOps team in order to create the CI/CD pipelines too.

You will have autonomy and influence on how to best introduce beneficial new technologies and automation in the API testing space and you will have an impact from day 1. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that the developers and QA teams come togetherand work effectively to deliver a robust platform for live services at scale. There will be lots of growth opportunities in this role as the business and team grows including becoming the API Team Lead as they will look to expand this team further in future.

**Essential Skills**:

- Ability to create maintainable, well documented testing framework that can be used and extended in future by other members of the API team
- Ideally, you will be able to read code (their API's are written in PHP). You should have a technical understanding of APIs and how to use them.
- Understanding of OpenAPI specifications e.g. Swagger
- Experience in load and performance testing
- A strong understanding of the software development and testing lifecycle
- Experience with either Curl, Postman, Insomnia or other similar API request programs
- You will have experience in moving from manual to automation testing
- Experience with bug tracking tools for example JIRA (not essential)
- You will be able to build and present a clear roadmap for the construction of the testing process and framework that you will both use and create
- You will be passionate about quality and improving the user experience
