This is a full-time role working fixed shifts, the hours of work are 7am to 3.30pm, Monday-Friday.
Experience in a similar role is required.
As a Foreman, your duties include:
- Production Coordination: Coordinate and oversee the production activities of the precast concrete manufacturing facility, ensuring that production schedules are met and quality standards are maintained.
- Team Supervision: Lead, train, and supervise a team of supervisors/workers, including machine operators, mould builders, concrete finishers, and laborers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
- Quality Control: Ensure adherence to quality control procedures, inspecting finished products for defects, and implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain high-quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a safe working environment by implementing and enforcing safety protocols and best practices, conducting regular safety meetings, and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
- Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop production schedules, allocate resources, and plan workflow to meet project requirements and deadlines.
Our perfect Foreman will have:
- Further education in construction management or a related field is desirable
- Extensive experience in precast concrete manufacturing, with a strong understanding of precast production processes, techniques, and equipment is favorable but not essential
- Proven strong leadership skills and experience in supervising and motivating a team of workers
- Sound knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to creating a safe work environment
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make informed decisions under pressure
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and H&S documents.
- Effective communication skills
- Further education in construction management or a related field is desirable
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment and machinery, ensuring they are in good working condition and initiating necessary repairs or replacements.
- Material Management: Coordinate the timely delivery and availability of raw materials, ensuring an adequate supply to meet production demands while minimising waste and optimizing inventory levels.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production reports, labour hours, material usage, and other relevant documentation. Generate reports as required by management.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements, implementing best practices and recommending appropriate changes to optimise production operations.
