PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE
- To develop and implement a Total Productive Maintenance schedule for all manufacturing equipment facilities.
- To respond to equipment breakdowns and lead in short term corrective action as well as longer term preventive actions as appropriate.
- To liaise with operational staff and Automation Engineer to identify opportunities for the introduction of new automated systems, to support the presentation of a business case for such opportunities.
- To liaise with Facilities staff for the support, maintenance and implementation of infrastructure systems.
- All such business cases are aimed at increasing financial contribution of the relevant operational unit through enhanced efficiency, utilisation and capacity increases as appropriate.

**SUMMARY OF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES The following are the principal duties of the Maintenance Engineer.**- To identify appropriate and cost effective methods and systems to introduce a TPM schedule for all operational equipment in order to meet equipment availability targets as agreed with the Manufacturing Team Leader and Operations Director.
- To ensure contracts are in place with relevant third party providers for service and maintenance where required.
- To identify relevant documentation requirements for the TPM schedules to record service and maintenance histories as well as relevant performance specifications.
- To maintain relevant records and documents within the QMS.
- To respond promptly to requests from the Manufacturing team to assess and remedy any equipment breakdown or malfunction and expedite the appropriate remedial action to minimise any loss of output.
- To work with operational staff to identify potential automation opportunities; to prioritise these opportunities according to business needs; to propose these to the Manufacturing Team Leader and Automation Engineer, to support the preparation of a businesscase for any agreed opportunities.
- To support the Manufacturing Team Leader and Automation Engineer in the introduction of automated systems and equipment on time and on budget so that the identified business case is fully delivered upon full implementation.
- To Support the Facilities Supervisor in the care and maintenance of the infrastructure systems on site such as HVAC, compressors, electrical supplies etc.
- To support the Facilities Manager in the specification and installation of new infrastructure requirements.
- To train, educate and support shop floor staff in the use, care and operational maintenance automation and other shop floor equipment.
- To actively take part in Problem Product investigations and attend all appropriate departmental meetings.
