We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Health Care Support workers, full-time and 1 part-time post to work within Dan y Deri who closely work with the Llwyneryr in-patient services, providing specialist care for people with learning disabilities, we are part of Swansea Bay University Health Board's Mental Health and Learning Disability Delivery Unit.

Dan y Deri offers a dynamic and challenging work environment, supporting adults with Learning Disabilities who present with behaviours which can challenge. We aim to provide a high quality, person centred approach based on the Positive Behaviour Support model.

The post holder will work closely with qualified nursing staff to contribute to the care and development of those accessing continuing healthcare ensuring a holistic delivery of care and services which are coherent and consistently applied. They will promote equality for all service users through anti discriminatory practice, supporting individuals’ rights, choices, beliefs and identity and by supporting individuals through effective communication.

Qualifications - Essential
- Ability to achieve NVQ Level 3
- Ability to undertake and complete BTEC Advanced Certificate

SKILLS & ABILITIES - Essential
- Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, ability to actively listen.
- Ability to work unsupervised once directed.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to quickly develop therapeutic relationships.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES - Essential
- Reliable, flexible and adaptable, able to work rotational shifts over a twenty-four-hour period, seven days per week.
- Have a good sense of personal boundaries and limitations, ability to seek clarification/guidance when required.
