At Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board we have an exciting approach to public and stakeholder engagement. Through listening to our communities and stakeholders, our engagement approach is continually developing to reflect the changing needs and ways in which people wish to engage with us.
We are looking for an enthusiastic engagement officer to join our engagement team and help drive this work forward in the East Area (Flintshire and Wrexham) of North Wales.
The role will involve working with colleagues across the Health Board, key stakeholders, community groups and networks to deliver engagement activity in support of both the East Area Team and Corporate priorities.
The Engagement Officer role will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the engagement strategy and plan across the Health Board to ensure successful engagement with our key stakeholders including the public, patients and staff to support the delivery of the Health Board’s strategic vision, goals and values.
The post holder will work as part of a focussed team responsible for delivering a major engagement programme for the Health Board, involving the public, staff and partners. The post holder will be expected to take responsibility for overall co-ordination and delivery of engagement and communication activities as defined in the engagement plan, using tact and persuasion skills to gain the support and engagement of staff, stakeholders and the public.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Reporting to the Head of Engagement and working closely with the Area Teams and the Partnerships, Engagement and Communications teams, the main responsibilities of the post are:
- To lead the development and implementation of the engagement strategy and plan required to deliver the strategic change programme
- To lead the delivery and monitoring of the engagement plan for our internally and externally, through all existing engagement, marketing and communications channels available to the Health Board and to highlight areas where further engagement mechanisms need to be established
- To actively network and build relationships across the Health Board, partner organisations, the third sector across North Wales.
- To lead and coordinate all communications and engagement activities and prepare relevant engagement materials including for the presentation at public engagement events
- To provide advice and guidance in relation to engagement to colleagues across the organisation.
