To support the future growth of the airport, we are looking to recruit an Environmental Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, you will play a key role in assisting with the day to day coordination of all aspects of environmental management. This a new and exciting role, which will offer the opportunity to work in a hands on capacity, ensuring the airport fully complies with all environmental legislation, as well as driving forward continual improvements.

The role operates as part of our Compliance team, operating across the whole airport and the main aspects of the role are:
Maintaining the airport’s certification to ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems, including document control, internal audits, record keeping, staff training and compliance evaluation;
- Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management and air quality;
- Carry out investigations in the event of an environmental incident, gathering evidence and keeping records;
- Coordination and implementation of all environmental policies and initiatives across the airport site;
- Assist with regular environmental monitoring, including surface water, air quality and aircraft noise;
- Prepare responses to environmental related complaints and enquiries received from external stakeholders, including aircraft noise complaints;
- Work with all airport staff to promote and improve the sustainability culture across the business;
- Supporting the Sustainability Manager to achieve targets, objectives and initiatives as detailed within the airport’s Travel Plan;
- Keep up to date with new environmental legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all legislation;
- Assisting with the management of all environmental service and maintenance contracts;
- Collation of accurate environmental data and record keeping, including energy, water, waste, air quality, noise/track keeping data and complaints;
- Supporting the wider Compliance team.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**Essential**
- BSc in Environmental Management, Environmental Science (or equivalent);
- Strong understanding of environmental issues
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
- Confident, proactive and ability to work on own initiative.

**Desirable**
- Member of IEMA
- ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems experience
