Brewery Assistant

At Three Acre Brewery we are expanding our brew team. We are looking for a part time Brewery Assistant, with the role becoming full time by Christmas 2024. This role would be an excellent entry level role to someone starting their career in beer as full training is provided.
**Main Purpose of Job**:
The Brewery Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting our brewery operations by assisting in the brewing process. This position contributes to maintaining the high quality and efficiency of our brewery and products.
**Main responsibilities**
- Working closely with the brewer’s and assisting the brewing team in various aspects of the brewing process from start to finish, including; mashing, boiling, fermenting, monitoring and control, and packaging.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the brewery, including sanitising equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Operate brewery equipment and machinery under supervision, adhering to safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring raw materials and supplies, and communicating shortages or discrepancies to management.
- Support quality control procedures by participating in sampling, testing, and recording data as required.
- Performing cleaning tasks throughout the brewery using chemicals and machinery all while adhering to standard operating procedures and COSHH guidelines. General responsibilities
- Ensure all brewing and company standards are adhered to Complete paperwork accurate as required to ensure a full trace of the brewing process is available Brew in line with customer’s orders, stock and availability Uphold a positive and collaborative work environment by communicating effectively with team members and contributing to a culture of mutual respect and cooperation.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including attendance, punctuality, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform physical tasks, such as lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods, as required in a brewery setting.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet production schedules when required.
**Additional duties**
- Assist with event setup and promotional activities to promote brewery products and engage with customers.
- Provide support for general maintenance tasks and projects to ensure the smooth operation of brewery facilities.
- Collaborate with other team members to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
- Undertake any other reasonable management request
- Attend staff meetings when required
- Work flexibly where possible to support the business when required
**Legal Duties**:
- Handle and transport alcoholic beverages in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.
- Attend any Health and Safety training when required
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in food production is desirable
- Knowledge of mechanical operations is advantageous
- Previous experience in brewing or home brewing is desirable.
- Full Driving license.

Pay: £75.00-£85.00 per day
