TEC Partners have partnered with an exciting medical devices business to recruit a talented and hands-on Product Improvement Engineer to join their Engineering team. This team manages their current portfolio products and focuses on product improvement, valueimprovement and Engineering change.

**Product Improvement Engineer responsibilities**:

- Technical complaint handling, investigation, documentation and risk management.
- Updating and maintaining medical device build specifications, designs and documentation including written specifications, CAD, labelling and User Manuals.
- Understanding and documenting product faults, problems and inefficiencies and researching, testing, proposing, specifying and working with suppliers to implement solutions.
- Recording, reporting and trending product failures and issues.
- Value engineering of existing products to include newer, safer, more user friendly and more economic technologies, materials and manufacturing processes.
- Working closely and supportively with our Sales and Purchasing functions to resolve technical product questions and to specify custom, special or modified parts.

**Qualifications and training**

It is **essential**that you have:

- SolidWorks (or similar) CAD training or qualification including creating, modifying, updating parts, assemblies and drawings
- Full UK driving license

**Experience and knowledge**

It is **essential**that you have:

- Hands-on small tools and bench experience including general metal working and (nice to have) welding
- SolidWorks (or similar) CAD experience including creating, modifying, updating parts, assemblies and drawings
- Ability to work comfortably within medical device regulatory and compliance requirements (BS EN ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, BS EN ISO 14971 etc.)
- Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written, essential for report writing and understanding medical regulatory standards
- Time management skills and the ability to multi-task
- Teamwork and the ability to collaborate on activities
