Working 37.5 hours a week alongside the multidisciplinary team, you be responsible for assessing the social care need of patients in secure care from a forensic perspective and be a principle provider of a quality Social Work Service to address those needsas outlined in patient care plans.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will work with patients who have complex mental health needs and who offend.The post holder will also be expected to supervise Social Workers and contribute to the development work in the department.
As a senior member of the team, you will lead and promote children and adult safeguarding and will be requested to design and deliver training and supervisions.

**Our Lead Social Worker role involves**:
- Taking a lead role within the multidisciplinary teams on non-medical mental capacity issues and best interest decisions
- Liaising with a host of external agencies to enable them to fulfil their statutory duties, for example, MAPPA, Local Authority Social Services, Police and Probation
- Supporting carers and families of service users
- To maintain accurate and up to date records of their social work inputs to the care plan including Section 117 care planning and transfer summaries, which reflect the patient’s views
- To actively participate in the development of the team, taking responsibility for specialist clinical areas of patient need by delivering therapeutic expertise.
**To be successful as a Lead Social Worker you’ll need**:
- Good working knowledge of the relevant legislation
- Minimum 2 years post Qualification and Management Experience.
- To be registered with the HCPC
- CQSW or CSS or Dip SW or Degree in Social Work
- Understand and champion the social perspective on mental health
