**Job summary**:
The Travel Cell at Cranwell provides travel support to all Cranwell personnel and its lodger units.
We are looking for an organised and motivated individual who must be able to work independently as well as part of the wider team to undertake the role of Travel Cell Clerk 2 booking travel for individuals and group travellers, which will also cover Adventurous Training and expeditions.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week with some flexibility of role, including hybrid or remote working, pending LM approval and activities. However, a regular office presence is required as this is a customer facing role.

**Job description**:
You will have regular contact with Global Business Travel (GBT) who are our external booking partner, and you will manage and provide an efficient and effective service to our customers. You will be required to manage Defence Travel Management Information (DTMI) data as required.
This role is suited to someone with a high level of administration, IT and organisation skills, who enjoys working independently but can also work as part of a team using all communication platforms to achieve objectives.
You will report directly to the Deputy Business Manager Flying, Travel Cell & Civil Service Engagement (DBM2). You will work autonomously and will be responsible for delivering all the Travel Cell outputs alongside Travel Cell Clerk 1.
**Person specification**:
- Consider all aspects of travel to ensure the most cost-effective movement of personnel. Liaising with customers to ensure their needs are met within the confines of the system and any current restrictions. Liaise with colleagues at other establishments to ensure best practice.
- Liaising with GBT and outside agencies if applicable to ascertain the most practical and economical method of travel. That meets customer requirements and delivers best value for money to the department.
- Book all travel online when it is practical and feasible to do so. Book larger groups or complex multifaceted travel offline when it saves time and is more cost effective in resource terms.
- Ensure all requests for accommodation are in line with the rules and regulations, that all authorities are in place and that military personnel have non-availability certificates for service accommodation or BM authority.
- Book all accommodation online when it is practical and feasible to do so. Accommodation should be within cap rate whenever possible but when no accommodation is available within cap rate you are to book the cheapest available over cap rate at the detached duty location and you have 10% flexibility for alternative accommodation at your discretion before recourse to BM for approval.
- Book travel and accommodation for Adventurous Training (AT) Expeditions for University Air Squadrons (UAS). These are a more complex booking that involves regular contact with GBT and UAS staff to ensure the smooth running for large groups overseas.
- Support Deputy Business Manager 2 with Civilian Engagement and processing of DTMI data when required.
