Ayr, United Kingdom Ayrshire Independent Living Network Full time

Personal Assistant for a young boy in the Ayr area.

4 hours per week£12 per hour.

To work closely and flexibly with a young person who has Autism, to ensure he is appropriately supported to participate in a full range of opportunities in his life and to continue to develop and follow his hobbies and interests.

You will be employed by the family, who will be assisted to administer payroll and undertake the necessary employment support responsibilities by a relevant support organisation.

You will be responsible for supporting the young person to engage in all aspects of community life and activities as directed by his family.

In and out of the family home, for things like go to the cinema, go for coffee, take him on the bus to town, potentially swimming when he builds a relationship.

Also other social activities he would enjoy. If he's having a bad day spend time with him at home playing games, doing art activities, learning crafts, maybe baking or puzzles etc and supervision to allow me to take the other 2 out knowing he's safe. This will vary depending on the young person needs on the day and will be guided by his parents.

Training in ASD would be an advantage and knowledge of the condition, although training will be given. Moving assisting training will also be required as the young person uses a wheelchair.

No personal care needed.
