Dispatch Assistant

White Lake Cheese is expanding Creating a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join the White Lake Cheese family. We are in the process of building a new factory and growing the business, so this is an exciting time to be joining us.

**Job purpose**: to assist with the dispatch of all orders containing around 36 award winning artisan cheeses.

The successful person will be someone that’s excited by the mission of producing and delivering outstanding cheese with beautiful presentation. A positive individual who is outgoing and personable who will be able to work hard on their own initiative and work well in a team.

Dispatch is a physically demanding job but is equally rewarding and exciting too.

**Job role**

The job entails working with an experienced team preparing customer orders within an agreed process and specification including picking, cutting and wrapping cheese, packing them into the appropriate boxes and labelling, ready for the agreed collection time; receiving goods inwards; following hygiene guidelines as well as assisting with the cleaning of equipment, dispatch area and chillers.

A degree of flexibility is required as you will be needed to help out in other departments when necessary.

**Knowledge & Skills**
- Experience is not necessary as training will be provided
- Computer literacy with Excel
- Food safety knowledge/experience is not necessary but is desirable (training will be given)

This is a full-time position, but part-time / job share would be considered - 5 days a week, Monday to Friday.

Approximately 40 hours per week.

£11.44 p/h

Permanent position

28 days annual holiday, including Bank Holidays

We are located in a rural area and there is no public transport in the locality, so your own transport is essential.

White Lake Cheese is an award-winning artisanal cheese making farm in Pylle, Shepton Mallet. We have our own goat farm and source ewe and Guernsey cow’s milk from other farms - all contributing to the incredible selection of cheese that we offer.

With a real love for cheese, we aim to produce some of the best cheese in the artisanal market.
