What will you do?
- Providing end-to-end secretariat support, including developing agendas and papers; overseeing the papers
- out process; attending and taking minutes of governance meetings; and overseeing completion of actions
- Providing support to the National Chair and Vice-Chairs, and Chairs of the Scrutiny Body and Committees
- Manage the delivery of the AGMs, including the proxy vote process and the relationship with external suppliers
- Overseeing compliance with statutory filings at Companies House and maintenance of statutory books
- Managing the Board and Committee records, including the annual work-plans/forward planners
- Reviewing and drafting key Corporate Governance documents e.g. terms of reference, matters reserved for the Board, reports for Board and Committee meetings
- Drafting procedures and presenting these to the Procedures Committee
- Delivering presentations and training for Board and Committee members and staff e.g., on corporate governance matters and MS Teams
- Overseeing the selection process for Board and Scrutiny Body appointments, including liaising with any external consultants
- Providing effective leadership and management to direct report/s, including performance management
- Acting as a deputy to the DCG as required
- Supporting the Board and business with EDI and ESG/CSR reporting and projects
- Leading on or supporting the delivery of ad hoc projects as required by the Director of Corporate Governance

Who are we looking for?
- Substantial practical working knowledge of a company secretarial / governance/compliance
- Minute taking at committee and/or Board level
- Supervisory / management experience
- Supporting Directors or senior management
- This role is primarily based at our Head Office in Blackpool.
- 35 hours per week Monday to Friday.
- 33 paid holidays per year including bank holidays.
