**The College**

West Dean College of Arts and Conservation is part of The Edward James Foundation Limited, a registered charity which also comprises West Dean Gardens, West Dean Estate and West Dean Tapestry Studio. The College has three academic Schools: The School of Arts and the School of Conservation, based at West Dean, and the School of Design, based at Chelsea Harbour, London.

This role is based primarily based in West Dean, on the 6,400-acre West Dean Estate in beautiful West Sussex countryside just north of Chichester (on the number 60 bus route). The historic house, collections and the stunning grounds and gardens make West Dean College a truly unique and beautiful place to work.

**The Role**

We have a new opportunity for permanent part time **Housekeeping Team leader (reporting to the Senior Housekeeper) **to join our Housekeeping Team. The main purpose of this role is to ensure that the Foundation’s premises and property are kept in a clean and orderly condition to meet customer expectation and in the in the absence of the senior housekeeper, supervise and coordinate all housekeeping and room servicing to ensure clean, orderly and attractive rooms, bathrooms and facilities in line with the housekeeping operating procedures and standards.

The main duties include:

- Ensure that individual working areas, as assigned by the senior housekeeper, are kept in a clean and orderly condition in compliance with housekeeping conservation procedure.
- Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, wood panelling, brass fittings, and trim.
- Clean and replenish tea tray.
- Dust, vacuum and clean rooms.
- Wash floors and clean bathrooms and toilets and empty bins.
- Replenish bathroom supplies.
- Make beds, changing towels and linen.
- Be fully aware of established standards for the servicing of guest rooms.
- Liaise with Student Welcome as required.
- Access appropriate occupancy information from the College’s database booking system as required.
- In the absence of the senior housekeeper investigate complaints regarding housekeeping services and equipment in liaison with the residential services supervisor and take corrective action as directed.
- Ensure that all college literature and fire regulation information is maintained, replenished and up to date in each bedroom in the Main House, Vicarage, Ivy Cottage and student annexes throughout the year.
