**Duties Included (But not limited to)**:
To assist the Cook with the preparation of varied, nutritious meals for the residents.

Help with the serving of meals for residents, be understanding of any specific food requirements and ensure everyone is treated with respect, dignity and given choice.

To understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements such as HACCP, Health & Safety, COSHH, Environmental Health, to maintain a safe environment throughout the home.

To clean and tidy all areas of the kitchen with the correct products following instruction and guidance contained in the cleaning schedules ensuring the care home is always cleaned to the highest standards.

Ensure that all kitchen equipment is in full, safe working order, immediately report any faults to the Cook.

To receive and unload new stock, store appropriately and rotate current stock correctly to maintain optimum freshness of all foodstuff.

To work as an integral part of the team, contribute to meetings and training sessions as required ensuring that the Care Home is a friendly and supportive working environment

Daily cleaning:
Empty waste bins and wipe out. Vacuum throughout.

Mop lino floors Shake out cushions

Clean dining rooms/lounges/toilets/bathrooms/sluices. Clean taps and sinks/soap dishes/toothbrush holders. Restock toilet rolls/paper towels/soap/hand sanitizer. Wipe tables, radiator covers, pictures and polish mirrors. Clean chairs and any soiled areas.

Spot clean all floors

Dust wall mirrors.

Weekly cleaning:
Clean all pipe work in lavatories.

Dust handrails, radiators and pictures.

Clean/dust shelving, wall fans and boxing round pipes.

Move all mobile furniture (including beds and chairs) and vacuum and dust beneath/behind.

Wash out metal paper bins.

Dust and polish furniture and windowsills Shampoo carpets as requested by Home Manager. ESBL water run (particularly in empty rooms)

Deep clean bins.
