Origen is an established and successful developer with an excellent track record delivering award winning projects in London and the Southeast. You will be part of a close-knit team working on a secured framework agreement contract.
You will be an integral member of the team, helping the company to produce distinctive, detailed buildings to specification, on time and on budget. We require a Quantity Surveyor that is an experienced, highly organised, and detailed person to help manageprojects by scoping out and breaking down all the necessary components and activities, resourcing the necessary products, people and services and overseeing the process from start to finish.
Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of pre and post contract roles on new and existing projects.
You will be responsible for the following:
- Measuring and quantifying works from Architect’s drawings
- Cost planning & budgeting
- Pre-tender estimating
- Sourcing and engaging with high quality subcontractors
- Tendering works packages and procurement
- Management of purchase orders and subcontracts
- Monthly valuations
- Project financial control and reporting
- Change management and communicating the impact of any changes on the programme and budget
- Using appropriate project management software, spreadsheets, trackers and in-house systems to effectively communicate information

- You will be involved in the development of all new sites, 8 per year at a value of circa £1 million each.
**Requirements**:
- Degree qualified
- At least 3 years experience working as an Assistant QS / QS
- Excellent numeracy and financial management skills
- Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
- Fit-out experience (residential also preferrable)
- Pre and post contract experience
- Articulate, ambitious and keen for greater responsibility
- A working knowledge of Quantity Surveying through job experience or training
- Strong IT skills particularly in the Microsoft Packages - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience with building measurement software beneficial
- Ability to travel from project to project as required - Full UK Driver’s License
