Band 4. This role requires a registered nursing associate to comply with the NMC assessment of learner’s criteria.

In conjunction with the CPL team the Learning Facilitator will play a key part in helping us to train, support, recruit and retain students primarily focusing on Direct Entry Trainee Nursing Associates (DETNA’s) to ensure we have a safe, effective clinical workforce for now and into the future.

The role is part of a system-wide approach to expanding and enhancing the practice learning experience and positively contributing to future healthcare practitioner workforce development. The focus of this role is to enable learners and preceptees to make sense of their clinical learning experiences and to develop skills which improve confidence and capability, enabling them to achieve their learning goals and proficiencies at point of care.

Part of this role will be a Moving and Handling trainer ensuring our learners are suitably prepared and assessed at the being of their programme to come on placement and during their placement to ensure they provide safe care to our patients.

Support the Centre for practice learning with the delivery of moving and handling sessions for all UoD pre reg students prior to placement at St Helena, UoD, Chesterfield and during placement at point of care as part of the assessment process to achieve proficiency.

Support learners, preceptees, preceptors and clinical staff in practice according to their individual learning needs, ensuring a constructive and supportive approach

Support of the clinical assessment process and the development of new clinical preceptors, practice assessors and supervisors to sign off proficiency and capability.

Act as a Practice Assessor to DETNA’s and as a Practice Supervisor to DETNA’s, TNA’s and student nurses in practice, completing their MYEPAD/Pebble pad to demonstrate their proficiency
