Norwich, United Kingdom Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Are you looking to gain specialist skills and develop in a new role? Our team based on Whitlingham Ward at Hellesdon Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Practitioner to join them.

Whitlingham Ward is a secure setting supporting women over the age of 18. Our ward aims to support women within a blended secure setting where people will receive specialist assessment, treatment and intensive rehabilitation in a safe environment. Our service supports people to learn to understand and manage their mental health and risk behaviour and to develop independent living skills collaboratively by identifying shared goals.

Our dedicated service is available to those people who need either Low or Medium security and operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day - it is a busy and sometimes challenging environment so will require someone who is flexible, remains calm under pressure and has excellent communication skills. This is a unique opportunity for you to work alongside and under the supervision of a team of Registered Nurses/Professionals; as a team we’re passionate about working collaboratively and creating a community. In this role there is scope to develop your knowledge, skills and ability in all areas of clinical care.

If you are self motivated, committed to delivering an excellent standard of care and would like a new challenge - we’d love to hear from you

**As Assistant Practitioner you will**:

- Support the registered nurse in the running of a shift
- Assess service users’ needs in conjunction with a registered professional.
- Work independently on own initiative to meet the needs of services users.
- Liaise and refer with external organisations as required promoting partnership and working to ensure holistic care.
- Ensure service users’ needs are accurately reflected in health record documentation.
- Assist service users and carers to access information and support.
- Support, promote and value equality and diversity.
- Work well both independently and with the multi-disciplinary team

Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to ongoing training and development opportunities, we are committed to providing an environment in which you can thrive.
