Strood Academy is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic **Cover Supervisor** to join our dedicated team and make a real difference to our students' learning experience. If you're passionate about education and eager to support both students and staff, we want to hear from you This is a fantastic opportunity to start in** September** and play a key role in ensuring that our students continue to thrive in the short-term absence of their teachers.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Supervise students during lessons and ensure they stay on task
- Respond to general student queries and report on behaviour
- Provide feedback to teachers on student engagement and classroom dynamics
- No planning, preparation, or assessment required unless there's a long-term absence
We’re looking for someone with **excellent interpersonal skills** who can quickly build positive relationships with both students and staff. Whether you're a graduate looking to explore a career in teaching or someone with prior experience in education, this role offers an invaluable opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the classroom. You’ll also have the chance to access training opportunities through our strong partnership with the **Kent and Medway Training Hub**, potentially offering a pathway into a teaching career.
While previous experience in education is desirable, it’s not essential full training will be provided to ensure you’re well-prepared for success.

- Since opening in 2009, our academy has transformed the educational opportunities and outcomes for girls and boys in Strood. The improvement in academic performance has been driven by a talented and committed workforce, the hard work of our students, and support from parents and our community. Our new buildings in Carnation Road were designed in partnership with Nicholas Hare and built by BAM as our main contractor at a cost of £26m. They opened in September 2012 and have outstanding learning environments and outside play areas as well as fantastic sports facilities. The buildings reflect our education vision of creating a mature and purposeful educational environment where children of all abilities can learn and thrive.**

- Our commitment to the development of all staff - CPD on Wednesday afternoons and the opportunity to collaborate with staff from other schools in the LAT. Also all staff at Strood receive regular coaching feedback through our on-line platform on-track.
- Strood academy is easily accessible by A2 and the high speed train can allow for travel into London in less than 30 minutes.
- We have a common sense approach to workload. All teachers are expected to feedback or live mark. We also work closely as a Trust allowing for centralised resources to be shared across our secondary schools.
